what they say about "you can never go back" is true. While we had a great time the place continues to change. I suppose for the better but it still makes me a bit sad to see small towns like Playa Del Coco grow up. I was able to find the bar on the beach where I hung out 25 years ago but now the entire beach is covered with them. There were some cruising boats anchored in the same place as I anchored but with so many people in town I wasn't able to hook up with any of them. We had one of the best stake dinners we have ever had at Andrea's on the main drag so that was good. Costa Rican beef without a bit of fat or gristle cooked to perfection for $12 US. The country is far more expensive them Mexico but for that you get water out of the facet that you can drink without worry. Toilets that flush with paper in them (in most places) and people who are as laid back as you can get and still have a country that functions. We did the usual tourist things like zip lines, walks through the rain forest and tubing down rivers with class three rapids. We flew out of Tj and saved over $600 dollars over American carriers and had more leg room. We took the trolley from right outside of our condo to the boarder, a $12.00 taxi ride to the airport and took Aero Mexico through Mexico City to San Jose. It was all great fun and now my wife is talking about taking the boat next time. I keep tossing this stuff out as bait and she seems to be biting again.
