just over two weeks ago I started building a new Great Harbor 10 sailing dinghy. The picture shows the hull in the mold after the last structural glass was put in the 16th. Since then I built the fiberglass tube for the mast step, the dagger board trunk and the fiberglass bases for the mahogany seats. I finished glassing in the seat bases, mast tube and centerboard trunk Monday evening. This morning I pulled the dinghy from the mold. Over the next 2-3 weeks I will build the seats, mahogany transom and mahogany trim for the sheer and then varnish all the wood. I am building this dinghy in collaboration with Hank Hinckley Boat Builders in Southwest Harbor, ME.
