and the pipe collapsed due to age, I guess at the critical point, Steve. I think I can fabricate a 90 degree tail piece either off the shelf or out of PVC and join it to the sound portion of the piping. As Tom says, if the replacement of the existing pipe could be done without less than a half day days labor, and not require major furniture removal, I would do it-
