Our new family property is where Ram Das' original Ashram is located. Unfortunately a couple of trees toppled on it and completely demolished the structure but some of the old wide pine boards are still intact. As we traverse the land, we're finding some of the old out buildings and even his old micro bus.
We spent the weekend clearing snowmobile/hiking/mountain biking trails. This isn't a good pic (as usual......I'm a terrible photographer) but here's my brother clearing some lumber from a trail. The Ashram is on the left.
The history of this property is amazing and includes a small golf course with grounds drainage, Landing strip, a band lodge (still in use for a yearly concert) , and countless older buildings spread throughout the parcel. We're allowing a state mountain bike trail through the property which connects to an amazing trail system making it one of the best trail systems in New England.
So much for being a cruising sailor...........life is pointing me in new and interesting directions though still on the bucket list is a trip down the ICW.
