Why does it seem like "cruisers" taking from "cruisers..."

Sure, Primadonna and crew are themselves bad eggs, but for another cruiser to come along and do what they call "wrecking" seems down right abusive to me. Sort of like abusing the code of the sea wherein we should help someone in distress.
