Faux seams never really caught on as I don't see them on new fiberglass boats.

Ironically, nearly all the wooden boats I see launched, above the waterline, are seam-less. Seams are filled and faired and brushed with enamel annually or bi-annually, gleaming in the(setting) sun, they look like fiberglass hulls just leaving an Awlgrip shed.

It's the other wooden boat details that give them away. Strange, eh?
