I managed o get the DAHL filter out and the Racor installed in just 5 hours on Friday with only two additional trips for hardware and fittings! We had 80 boats left to launch as of Friday morning, however by doing the math with or day crew during the week, we will still have 20 to launch after the deadline..........the enthusiasm just doesn't seem to be there this year, people are not ready and the weather is not cooperating. We launched Saturday after moving two boats that were not ready. We were in the water for an hour before hauling out. The sealant on the knotmeter thru-hull decided it was done sealing. We got the boat in the slings just as the rain started............again. Got the fitting out, cleaned and replaced just in time for the rain to stop. Back in the water and a nice dry bilge. Worked all day yesterday launching boats that were ready but we are still wayyyy behind.
Also, as we suspected the winter took a toll on the boats that were only lightly winterized including one sail boat where the absentee owners contracted with "a guy" to winterize, remove the batteries and wrap the boat. The guy did none of the above but took their money, they were out of town until 3 weeks ago. They had knee-deep water down below which was above the level of the batteries that weren't supposed to be there and a cracked head on the engine. Powerboaters lost a bunch of outdrives to the cold temps and freezing. Naturally, some of the damage isn't evident until after they go in the water.
