the US "Federal" lids are a disaster resulting in 50% spillage in my experience. In Canada the can comes the same way, but you can buy on the accessory rack a replacement that works (Canadian Tire stores for example). This is an example of a do-gooder fail. The people that mandated this no doubt have illegal immigrants filling their lawn mowers, or they would know what evil they had wrought.
