There are some great places to live and keep boats here. No surprise that you have to pay for location, location, location! You may prefer not to be close in. There are so many beautiful harbors up and down Puget Sound. My preference is to avoid the hassles of keeping a boat in fresh water and dealing with locks and bridge openings. It depends on your boating habits. We keep our boat at Shilshole Bay Marina at the salt water end of the Lake Washington Ship Canal and just 15-20 minutes by car from our house.

I recall submarines are in your background. I know a number of retired submariners in the area. Bremerton, Keyport, the Trident Base all are in nearby. I was on a local cruise with some retired submariners a couple weeks ago. One picked out his old nuclear sub waiting to be dismantled at the Bremerton yard.
