is what bothers me most. It's not finished nor well controlled. A furler needs to work smoothly with all the parts it contacts. That unfinished end could potentially cause issues or bind up.

The unlaid wire rope is also ugly but it doesn't look kinked and maybe less of an issue when placed under tension, but I'd replace that anyway. It's the things you don't know that often get ya.
