Gorgeous Girl is tied up to one of Front Street Shipyard's floats, waiting to be hauled out for bottom painting. Sally and I ride out in the dinghy to get a bit of work done in the early afternoon. Sally polishes the stripped out interior while I sand out the exterior teak. The sun is shining. A mild sea breeze is rolling in. The Red Sox are playing a day game at Fenway. They're going for a seventh straight win after ten straight losses. On the float, I listen in on the radio as I have for the past 50 years. A few weeks from now we'll sail across to Newfoundland. Once again back to the fjords, waterfalls, whales, and France. It all seems like a dream but I can't recall ever having dreams this good. We celebrate our good fortune as should all of us who sail. Life on the water is all the reward anyone could hope for.
Just a post from someone who is feeling too good not to share it.
