Cruising Sailors Forum Archive

OK so maybe I am a little crazy about wanting to have a nice low drag bottom....

... on Esmeralde! I also understand that most cruisers have no desire or need for such frivolities. We opted for the sail drive because it has less drag under sail, we have a smooth bottom, we keep it clean and we enjoy a fairly quick Sabre 386. Anyway after spending the morning wet sanding the bottom with 400 grit for that smooth as silk finish, I decided to take a stroll down our dock to look at boats that are actually in the water. Every year there is a new boat or two in the marina and I wanted to see what was happening.
Not certain what the boat is (best guess a Morgan Out Islander???) but the owner clearly has not got the same fixation with drag that I do....
I especially like the way they wired the unit!
Can't wait to meet the owners!
