Hi John
In Response To: Hey there Max, question ... ()

The AIS is minimal draw; I don't have the specs here at the wifi hotspot to know exactly what but it's very low. I would definitely leave the AIS on all the time. We did use the autopilot the entire way. I only put the Monitor windvane on at the last minute, feeling like I should have it as a backup (even though I already have a backup autopilot, solar panels, etc). The AP did chew up some juice, especially when conditions were unsettled/windier. Maybe 2-3 amps? We don't have a plotter for this part of the world. I do have an old Garmin 48 that I left on for course and speed info. Once you get offshore a bit you don't really need the plotter.

Have a great trip north!
