My wife and a couple of her girlfriends were over on Presque Isle State Park to see a concert. At that time we had our Catalina 27 in a slip there, so after the concert they drove over to the marina to hang out on the boat while everyone was clogging the roads leaving the park. They were sitting on our boat, in the slip. The big 40+' USCG boat came into the marina basin from the bay and tied up at the fuel dock. The coasties got off their boat, walked the length of the fuel dock, over to the dock where we were tied up and then down the dock directly to our boat. They searched the entire boat and had my wife open each locker and tell them what was in it. Where all the different tanks were, inspected the engine compartment, v-berth lockers, etc. In the end there was nothing to find of course. Not sure if they thought I was smuggling drugs, rum or Canadians in my Catalina 27. They packed up, walked back to their boat without looking at any other boats in the marina and left the basin. The other people on the dock said that we must have pissed someone off in the marina so they called us in.
