For anyone interested in cruising this spectacular coast, here are some updated notes:

The outport of Grand Bruit was emptied 4 years ago but there are two families who maintain summer cottages there. The docks and walkways are still in excellent shape. Of course dockage is free.

The Marine Service Center in Burgeo is also the Harbour Authority. Dockage is $1/foot. With that you get free electricity, free showers, free use of the laundry machines, free rides to the stores, and free use of the workshop and tools. The two young men working there are exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Francois now charges $1/meter for either of the two floating docks.

Dockage at Miquelon is free. The epicerie near the docks still has an exceptional boucherie and the lunch spot, Snack Bar-a-choix, has a fabulous selection of crepes.
