rules, laws and regulations
In Response To: It's 85 and sunny today ()

There is only one club in the area that will allow you to mess around with a boat in the water year round, or so the rumor is(I can't back that up with facts). The majority of the clubs and marinas are either leased from or run by a government agency. Regardless of the weather the navigation markers are pulled, floating docks removed and restrooms shut down by October 31st. You can still use the boat ramps although there are no docks. You can still use your boat although all of the navigation aids, shallow water markers, etc are gone. At our club, the bylaws state that all boats must be hauled by the last Sunday in October. If not, the owners begin to rack up fines. We have to winterize all of our equipment, pull the water lines to the docks and blow everything out, shut off the power, winterize the pool and hot tub and all of our picnic shelters, hot water tanks and so forth.
