I needed a new tachometer for my boat. After reasearching it, I decided on the model I wanted then searched for the best price I could find. I had never heard of East Marine before, but their price+shipping was the cheapest I could find, so I placed the order. The description on their website indicated that it included an hour meter, but I had my doubts as other sites descriptions and photos didn't show it (East Marine's site didn't have a photo). I have a seperate, dedicated hour meter, so while I'd be happy if the tachometer came with one, I didn't really expect it.
The tach came today and sure enough, it didn't have an hour meter - no big surprise.
I did, however, send East Marine an email pointing out the error on their site, including a photo of the unit I had just received. I finished by stating that I wanted neither a refund nor to return the unit, but that I would appreciate a reply to my email so that I would know that I at least got someone's attention.
An hour and a half later, I received two emails. The first was from PayPal informing me that East Marine had given me a $10 refund and the 2nd was from East Marine thanking me for pointing out the error and telling me that it had been fixed.
I was impressed by both the response I received and the rapidity of it.
I've no relationship to this company other than being a first time customer.
