I'm a displaced farmer, so admire practical machinery. One thing we did that was extremely handy was weld a small piece of plate on the sides of the bucket, with a slot to catch chain in it. Makes it so much faster and easier to wrap a chain around something and hook it to the bucket. Also made a welded box with an expanded metal bottom in it and put it across the front of the hoist to keep chains in. Always handy, and didn't hold water. That way you don't lose chains out of the bucket...don't ask me how I know that
