We have had a Nobeltec PC-1 radar since 2004. Works fine, BUT Nobletec is going to abandon the charts for VNS end this year.
The radar is a Koden/Sitex scanner that feeds a black box (actually it is blue) which in turn puts out an RS422 signal to the computer.
Nobeltec has told me that they will not support this system any more,

If we want Nobeltec charts in 2015 we will have to switch to their new software (Time Zero/Odyssey) software. It will nto work with our old radar

At Annapolis yesterday,, the Nobeltec rep told us that we can buy a new blue box that will take the old radar signal, plug compatible, and put our an Ethernet signal that will run with both the VNS software and old charts and with the new software.

does anyone have any experience with this?
