We went boat shopping in the late 80's for a boat to take us down the coast to the Bahamas for a year. We looked at a few Tartan 30's as they were popular on Lake Champlain(our home waters then). In fact a T30 was my first choice, but they were out of our price range-all in the mid-high 20k's. The T30 was huge in our eyes, more boat than we could imagine then coming from our 23'er.

Second choice was a P30(another popular boat on the lake). We almost bought one of those but the seller backed out after a full price offer!

We eventually found a 1975 Cape Dory 28 in the low 20's that fit it us to a T. A great boat if smaller, it took us everywhere we wanted to go.

Man, how the market has changed!
