I spent a long frustrating evening looking for a solution, so I am now turn to the real experts
We have about 3500 photos on hard disc, in ten folders, one per year. Each annual folder contains 3 to 12 sub folders
When I transfer to iPad with iTunes I get an album for each year, but within each year the shoots display in random order
There are dozens of apps in the store for organizing slides, mostly with no or negative reviews

Can anyone recommend good software, either for the PC or the iPad?
We are not interested in fancy transitions, but want a fast and easy to group the slides by sub folder,and in preferred order within each
Something as simple as displaying in chronological order of taking the shot would be a great help
