Used to try and use the round one and wind would blow out the flame and it would explosively re-light filling the cabin with smoke. That was always fun.
The Charlie Noble works great. When the wind gets up I increase the fuel flow and run the combustion fan at a low speed and that seems to keep the flame going. But mostly it works fine in pretty strong winds without that. The round thing though, ten knots of wind over the deck and you have to worry.
