We could hear a pin drop in Varenna Italy.
In Response To: Wednesday is PHOTO DAY! ()

'Off season', is a universal phrase if you live near the water. Varenna,on Lake Como is at the foot of the Swiss Alps and 'cool' at this time of the year. I noticed that the few of us traveling there, looked sturdy, weatherwise. Like Audrey and Tim from Edinburgh Scottland the forward passengers on this ferry to Belagio. We ran into them so many times, we had to share brief life stories. We never mentioned the weather.

This is Varenna coming back into port. The lake and mountains look computer-generated, the scene is so captivating.

We rented a place right on an old square in the village. Dirt cheap in the off season as was everything else. I like this shot my wife took. We don't see the same things, isn't that wonderful? What if we did.....

We hung out for a couple days and roamed the alleys and walks along the lake. We ate in the same restaurant and got to know the owner a bit. We were staying in his aunts flat. Here's one of the ferry's just coming off his foils on Lake Como.
