As I said over in one of the SA threads, they seem to be subject to "brittle failure" where you are sitting in the pilothouse, everything seems ordinary and quite, and suddenly it goes to shit. There was the capsize of the Atlantic cat on the Lakes a couple of years ago too - same story, sudden wind gust. On a monohull sitting out in the weather, you are more aware of the deteriorating conditions, and the safety valve of heeling covers a lot of sins.
