Problem, solution...better solution

When we left Bellingham 2 years ago we did not do much night sailing. When working our way south it was easy sailing with the masthead tricolor on. Unfortunately when the wind died and I started motoring I changed to deck level lights and overhead steaming light the stern light reflected off the monitor wind vane and lit up the cockpit. So step 1 was to move the light up by the solar panels over the bimini. Better but still too much light in the cockpit. Step 2 was to put the bow red/green on 1 switch and the stern white on second switch. Now when motoring I turn on the red/green and the ANCHOR light, from all points I have correct lighting and no light messing with my night vision. Tom Evans SV Tappan Zee Bandaras Bay Mexico
