Missed photo day. A new boat ???? project.
Now that we've been boatless for a while parts of our life are gone and a few are missed quite a bit.
I had our old backup windpoint transducer sitting around and purchased a Raymarine ST50 instrument on Ebay for a pretty good price. Last week I mounted the transducer on the roof & ran the wires to the main floor. Since it was in a testing stage I mounted it on a cardboard box and set it on the refrigerator. The bow of the boat is the direction your facing. I found a nice compass rose on the internet, printed it out and stuck it on the meter. Fortunately the wall I'll put it on is exactly east/west and you face south giving the compass rose cleaner look. It's plugged into a 12 volt transformer running on house power so it's on all the time.
It's a lot of fun to watch the needle move continuously as all home weather stations have at least a 2 1/2 second resresh rate so it's just not the same.
Yeah, sometimes we just miss parts of your life on the boat.
