3-strand is more stretchy

I bought new 3-strand at the beginning of last season because it seems to stretch and absorb shock better than braided. About mid-season I replaced all the 3-strand with new double braid for the very reason I bought the 3-strand in the first place, it was so stretchy that it was impossible to keep the boat off the finger pier in a storm (prevailing winds from the West here). When it rained it was even worse, they stretched even more.

This past weekend we moved back to our old slip because the one we were in was just too small(although the view of the sunset was WAY better). 3" on either side coming through the finger pier upright and 4-point tie. We were also 30' LOA in a 30' slip and the 3-strand was just too stretchy.

Now that we have moved back to a 40' slip and have more room I'm thinking I'll put the double braid away and get the 3-strand back out.
