I learned a new one on Vinalhaven Island last year: Porchin' season. In Response To: Maine quotes: ()
Porchin' season is just after labor day on Vinalhaven. In the afternoons - during porchin' season, locals set on the big porches of vacant summer homes, and drink their, "Bee-yah".
Sure it's a joke but I bet it has more than a little historic basis.
