We use the corded and inverter for those reasons. Cost also figured into it since the corded drill was lots cheaper. There may be some risk with the higher voltage but we don't use it in rain or rough conditions anyway. I used a friends' and didn't much care for the bulk of the Jacobs chuck and the Winchbit or whatever it was so made a simple square adaptor that threads onto the drill after removing the chuck. Makes for a short nose.
