In fact we "bashed only about 12 hours right before Ensenada. We started with the idea of sailing offshore and sailed 320 nm WSW of Cabo and then started getting a lift to NW. Often the shift is around 124* longitude but when we were out the high shifted and we would need to get in the neighborhood of 130* W. Well after a great 3 day sail to weather the wind died and we motored in calm for 4 days. When the wind came back we fell off on a 2 day reach to Turtle Bay. Refueled and motored in light conditions till 1/2 day out of Ensenada. I can't say we didn't bash but not much is closer to the truth. Of course I am of Welsh extraction and my kin value a story over boring facts.
