I spent a memorable birthday rounding Cape Hatteras aboard that boat several years ago...

Hey Todd,

... January 24, delivering her from Annapolis to Charleston... We had some Thunder Snow that night, it was pretty cool...

She was originally named FAIRWEATHER, and was an awesome sailing machine, and a stunning example of Maine craftsmanship at it's finest... But the boat had a very weird layout, not hard to imagine why she might not appeal to many buyers... Bob Perry says it had one of the worst interiors he's ever seen, and rightfully should be named LITTLE OLD LADIES HOUSE... LMFAO, but I have to say he's spot on... The only redeeming feature were her pilot berths, they were truly awesome...

that boat really needs a dark hull, IMHO... I've always thought those portlights ruined the look of the boat, and I think a dark hull would give the appearance of less freeboard, as well...

If I could die in my sleep, I couldn't imagine a finer spot than in the leeward pilot berth on FAIRWEATHER, sailing a reach like this... (grin)

best regards,

Jon
