As you can see from the photo, I removed some of the flap and before I'm finished, I think I'm going to grind a little more away so that it's flush with the rest of the bronze neck. I'm also thinking about filling in that gap behind the bronze flap with JB-Weld, then redrilling the hole from the outside through the JB-Weld.
