You guys got really dumped-on in the Carolina's -- especially SC.
We had a 1.5' higher than normal expected tidal range due to the water/wind/atmospheric pressure in the bay. The astronomical tidal high tide was somewhat higher too.
At our dock, we had about 1' and some change left before the power would have been shorted-out at the power poles' bus connections at their bases'. IF that wind would have had an southerly connection instead of northeasterly (e.g., ESE or SE), then we would have some problems at our marina.
They don't have a lot of floating docks in the Chesapeake and aren't really set-up for 3'-6 above normal MLW.
