As a Pacific Northwest sailor cruising Oregon, Washington and BC I can't quite get my head around being doused with spray without going hyperthermic! Even in July and August we wear fleece, full foulies and watch caps. Maybe even long underwear at night. I am also envious of the crew. Nothing like plenty of strong and capable hands.
I couldn't help but notice the casual use of PFDs. On our boat when offshore nobody comes up from below without one on and nobody leaves the cockpit without clipping to the jacklines.
