Its been a long day, with lots of rain and it finished with a rainbow...

Jon definitely left a fragrance.

I left Annapolis this morning at around 5am. Got to Jon’s at around 8:30, where I met Jon’s Brother Bud and his Wife Lynn (they flew in from California) and Jon’s neighbor from across the street.
Then around 10am, Jon’s friend from elementary school arrived. Bob flew in from Florida.

After some conversation, and sharing memories; I got to putting Jon’s boat away for her winters nap.
It rained all day long, in fact in poured cats and dogs.

Taking her canvas down, tiding up her deck, installing bubblers, and then trying to figure out Jon’s “custom” boat, I winterized
everything and drained everything else, and closed her seacocks. Plus cleaning up the Yard a bit.

Its 9pm and I just got home. A long day. A sad day.

For the next several days, Bud/Lynn and Bob will start the cleaning of Jon’s place, and taking care of the other legal stuff.

Whats wonderful is that I found the remaining rungs from his father's ladder. I gave one to Bud to be part of Jon’s ashes,
the other I have so when we have our gathering to pay our tribute to Jon, we’ll all sign it; then I’ll take it up to Barnegut Inlet
and let it float out with an ebb tide.

Jon loved Barnegut.

Bud and myself (mostly me) will organize Jon’s Party to be held in Annapolis sometime early April. I’ll rent the Democratic Club (Jon was a Democratic-he'd like that hahaha).
I’ll let everyone know when, after the storm blows on through and the dust settles.

Thanks. Life is short..
Just 2 weeks ago, my Kate's good friend Gale Browning (great Surveyor) passed away. Kate took care of Gale each and every morning faithfully till she passed on. It was a 6 month sad losing battle. Cancer got Gale.
