It turned out to be a great late October day for sailing, though it was a bit chilly (temps were in the high 30's with scattered dark clouds and a few snow flurries). There was a NW wind around 120 true, and we headed ENE (the meter is showing apparent). We sailed less than 3 miles off the windward shore so wind waves were only about 1-2 feet on the beam. It doesn't get much better, though 20-degrees warmer would have been nice
It was a great way to end the season. If we had only known about the unseasonably warm Nov/Dec weather, we would have stayed in longer.
