Been there, done that

Stainless whips melt at about 4,000-degrees F. It unscrewed the PL-259 cable connector and blew it to Neverland. Found Windex fragments on the deck, but the Raymarine wind sensor still worked. Raymarine gave me a very nice deal on total instrument replacement for about 50% of list -- all new stuff for the "repair price". Lights blown, hailer loudspeaker blown, VHF blown, gauges blown, engine harness diodes and relays blown. No hull or rig damage (hauled out for hull inspection and mast-down rig inspection).
