I gotta say I have always enjoyed the part where you look at the paper chart, go out and take what comes where it comes. Thinking on your feet, as it were, adapting to what crops up.

Guess that's why I still can't make my GPS work for anything but SOG and LAT/LON.

Of course, I'm mostly armchair these days so it's moot for me at this time.
