it's a haunting and beautiful piece, thank you Steve. There's another story he told me about the Labrador trip: one evening at anchor, down below he heard a scratching sound under the keel. He thought to himself, 'I know I have enough water under me' so he went up the companionway to check it out. It was a beluga whale scratching it's back on the keel!
