Follow up on docking aids

A while back we were talking about docking and docking aids. A friend recommended a device called BoGrips, made here in the Netherlands. I bought one for €30 and it is a slick little tool. It's very light and extends to about 6 feet, and can hook your dock line onto a cleat or a pole with ease. I doubt they're available in the states, as they're somewhat hard to find even here, but might give someone some ideas about how to do a homemade one as a couple of you have done. It's simply a flexible piece of plastic with a slit at the end and a few tabs to hold the dock line around the perimeter, mounted on an extendable aluminum pole. We've used it a couple of times, more to try it out than a situation where we really need it, and it works well.
