threaded connections on both ends of the hose. I found out that once you get the hose on and tightened down for a while, grooves are pressed into the hose by the barbs so that when you relax the hose clamp the fitting can spin. Instead of removing the hose from the valve, head or tank fitting, I just screw it off the existing female threaded fitting or the one that I had previously installed. That way I can remove the hose and clean it on the dock or saw off the male fittings and start fresh with new hose but the major effort is done off the boat where you're not killing yourself under some little cabinet. You have got to set it up from the start on some breakable fittings like on a plastic head but I do that with short pigtails. Once you get the major length of hose screwed off the pigtail is simple. I've been doing it this way for years. You have a couple more connections but the ease of working on your system is worth it. I don't do this on every section of hose, just the ones that are hard to reach.
