Go to the SSCA discussion board and view the very long discussion about KISS. KISS, IMO is nothing but smoke and mirrors. A single bundle of assorted lengths of wires is no where as good a counterpoise as the saltwater that you are floating on.

Stick with what you have that works. If you want to increase your ground surface area tie into your keel bolts. Even an internal keel will help.
