there is no Active Captain interface as with the Garmin Blue Chart I have on the ipad.

The Garmin app is a few years old but I can make updates. It costs more upfront but doesn't have to be re-purchased every season.

The Navionics just has more tools and versatility. The pointer on your boats icon is especially handy for a sailboat. Giving your set and drift at a glance saves time in knowing what your tack will carry.

I haven't used the route function. What do you like about it?
