I have come to the conclusion that if a New Englander, for example, really wanted to retire to Florida, or anywhere down south that is close to the Atlantic, Bahamas, Caribbean, etc, the outskirts of Jacksonville should be high on the list. In my wanderings by bicycle in this area I have found a great many neighborhoods with modest homes on quiet shady streets with lovely parks nearby. I have no plans to move anywhere except where my boat happens to be headed but I thought you might like to know.
