Yes I know Sunware says you can walk on them but they are standard equipment on Dragonfly sailboats and based on conversations with other owners I can tell you the failure rate has been very high. I think it's because they're mounted in the most likely spot for boarding traffic (see image). These are 20w each for a total of 160w. Based on my experience when dropping the dinghy I suspect high point-loads or impacts are not so good for them either ;) .

It's a good placement to avoid shadows and not where people go while sailing, and for boarding there's plenty of room aft of the panels for people to avoid them -- but there's always the "oops" factor. :(

As for the missing diode pack -- I have one in my desk drawer you can have free. Email me and I'll send you a photo so you can tell me if it's the right kind. It is cigar-shaped and has three conductors (blue, brown, and yellow/green stripe) on the PV panel side and two conductors (red and blue) on the battery side.
