Freedom hadn't built a sailboat in years when they went out of business. Their Legacy powerboat line was built in a leased facility in Middletown, RI (In the middle of the island). No waterfront property there.

Come to think of it, their last facility was a former C&C plant. Maybe there is something to that jinx thing after all.
