Our boat already has special pads for mounting that must have been built into the deck mold. I am sure the owner and builder would not have put anything that wasn't capable of withstanding the loads in the area, but I'll check with him anyway.

Also, there is a removable wood trim piece inside for access to this area so the bolts will be concealed in the overhead. You can just see one of them in the center of this photo.
