change. Imagine, now, that English Bay is an arm of the Salish Sea (ex-Georgia Strait) --seems odd. Perhaps Squamish Bay instead, or something like that (and nearby Howe Sound, which leads up to the town of Squamish, could reasonably be renamed Squamish Sound. ("Swú7mesh" is the way it's written in the Squamish language, which historically was unwritten, like many native languages. Try reading that on a chart! ;-) )
Way too many places names of long-dead and forgotten royal peers.
One thing I do like about the former naming is that it distinguished Puget Sound from Juan de Fuca and Georgia Strait. I can't imagine they'll all be called "Salish Sea"? Just doesn't sound accurate enough.
