I'm sure that the upgrade will make the forum a better tool. And I can certainly understand, from an admin perspective, the desire to require registration. However, it was precisely the lack of required registration (even having to type in the 4 digit password) that IMO contributed to making CSBB (and its predecessor) a more interesting place over the years. It was the ability of people to post with anonymous names to write posts they probably wouldn't if they were registered that added an element of spontaneity, frivolity, humor and wildness that made it an interesting place to hang out. How many threads were started by someone posting an anonymous exchange? Many screen wipes were involved with that as well.

With registration, I fear the venerable CSBB will lose much of its character and become another typical "which anchor works best" BB that may be informative, but ultimately boring.
