Elfin Cove, Alaska...

...speaking of fishing towns. But the population of about 30 or probably qualifies it as a hamlet rather than a town! Guy I was speaking to there last summer told me about 20 people spent the winter there last year...25 feet of snow...it was all they could do to keep up with shoveling the docks (fish boat docks around the corner) to keep them from sinking...and it was a drag when the weekly seaplane didn't make it in for 6 weeks on account of bad weather, so they felt a bit isolated. The guy told me that, after 11 years there, he was ready to move He also told me fishes in the winter, a fairly serious endeavor up there, which made me wonder...
